Your appearance is a key component of making a good first impression at job interviews. Looking nice will impress your interviewer and help you feel more confident. Here are five tips for looking your best and landing the job of your dreams.

    1. Wardrobe

Different companies have different standards of dress. They may tell you what to expect when they invite you to interview, or you may be able to find tips specific to the company on job review websites. The general rule is that you’d rather be overdressed than underdressed. Once you’ve selected your outfit, you should consider having it professionally cleaned and pressed. Dry cleaning pickup and delivery software make that easy and convenient so you can focus on other areas of interview preparation.

    1. Hair

Your hair should look clean, neat and professional for interviews. Those with shorter hair should use hair gel to keep it styled as desired for the duration of your meeting. If you have longer hair, wear it down or put it up neatly. A well-styled ponytail or bun will look a lot more professional than a messy bun. If possible, avoid unnatural hair colors for interviews unless it fits the culture of the company you are interviewing with.

    1. Makeup

A little makeup can help show that you care about the interview and went the extra mile to make a good first impression. Don’t feel a need to wear much more or much less makeup than you usually would. You just want to look like the most professional and put-together version of yourself. Even those who don’t wear makeup could benefit from a little moisturizer and lip balm so your skin looks its very best.

    1. Shoes

For your interview, you’ll want to wear shoes that make you feel confident and comfortable. If high heels make you feel strong and empowered, go ahead and wear them. If you find heels uncomfortable and can’t walk as well in them, stick with flats. Also, pay attention to your socks if you wear them. You want your socks to match your attire and not be distracting.

    1. Posture

People underestimate the power of posture. Standing up straight and carrying yourself well will make you appear more confident and professional. Try to imagine lining up your head over your heart and your heart over your pelvis to ensure your back and neck are perfectly straight.

Following these tips will make you look put together and show your interviewer how much you care about the position. Remember that first impressions are everything when it comes to a successful meeting.
