Conveniently located less than an hour from Houston, Sealy, Texas is a great place to visit for an afternoon or to live for a lifetime. George Sealy purchased the land that the town now sits on in 1879 with the intent to establish a railroad depot. The thriving little town soon became home to German and Czech settlers whose descendants still live in the area.

Natural Wonders
Sealy is close to many central Texas natural wonders such as the Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Refuge dedicated to preserving the habitat of this endangered bird. Every spring, for locals and visitors alike, fields and roadsides overflow with wildflowers, part of the 1965 Highway Beautification Act championed by Lady Bird Johnson, wife of President Johnson.
