If you’ve ever been fortunate enough to get away to sunny Mexico, there’s no doubt you’ve fantasized about living there. The beaches and cities of the Riviera Maya, such as Tulum, are especially captivating. If you think staying full-time sounds like nothing more than a distant dream, it’s actually very affordable. Here are four tempting reasons to relocate to Tulum on the beautiful Riviera Maya.

    Stunning Beaches

The beaches in Tulum are some of the best on the Riviera Maya. Tulum is located south of both Cancun and Playa del Carmen, yet it offers a more relaxing atmosphere. If you can imagine having access to these stunning coastlines and turquoise waters every day, that alone is reason enough to look into Tulum Mexico real estate. Oceanside living is healthy and the perfect 80-degree days don’t hurt, either!

    Rich History

History lovers will relish living in a place so full of ancient ruins as Tulum. The area is home to mystical Mayan ruins such as the ancient Playa Ruinas, a fortress perched on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean’s azure waters. You can actually swim while admiring them! Tulum is also close to the famous Coba ruins and within driving distance to the Chichen Itza where you can see the world-famous Kukulkan Pyramid. All of these spots are fascinating to explore and make wonderful day trips.

    Refreshing Cenotes

A cenote is a sinkhole formed where a cave used to be, creating a deep pool of water with colors ranging from blues to emerald greens. Cenotes are found all over the Yucatan Peninsula and are visually spectacular, cold and refreshing. These translucent swimming holes range from open-air, partially open and underground. Most are accessible by stairs, though some are only available for expert divers. Cenotes are a delight and make the area even more appealing to expats.

    Abundant Wildlife

If you’re happiest near nature, Tulum won’t disappoint. You’ll be in the company of iguanas, sea turtles and monkeys. Birdwatchers will rejoice the first time they see wild parrots, toucans and a large number of different types of hummingbirds. You’ll also want to keep your eyes peeled for the adorable agouti, a shy rodent that is found near the woods.

    Exceptional Beauty

Mexico is one of the best countries in the world for relocating. The city of Tulum, on the Riviera Maya, is exceptional. From beautiful beaches, historical ruins and countless outdoor activities, you’ll be in awe each day walking up in your own personal paradise.
