For the Architect in your life…
Another Studio | Centre Pompidou MONUmini
Aimee Furnival Founder of Another Studio:
“I use this sheet material, laser-cut shapes into it, then assemble it all by hand into a range of lightshades and desktop objects. It’s using quite traditional marquetry craft techniques but in a really modern way and probably in a way you wouldn’t normally associate with it. It’s taken a lot of trial and error trying to move this very solid material into more flexible shapes.”

Ripa & Ripa | Panarea Swim Shorts
Our editor, Morgan, spoke with one of the founders Anna earlier this year:

For the women who wants to be ‘swishy’….
Kirsteen Stewart | Haze Scarf
“I’m a fashion and textile designer based in Orkney where I have my boutique and studio. I love colour and my prints tend to be big, bold and graphic with plenty of movement. Creating collections of womenswear and accessories, I keep the shapes simple so they are wearable and allow the prints to do the work. I want to bring creativity and colour into everyday life with my designs.”

The New York Distilling Company | Dorothy Parker
Allen Katz, co-founder and Vice-President – Product Development:
“I always wanted to produce something. I had no idea that it would be alcohol, but even as a kid I had an urge to be creative – or at least attempt to be creative. After the fantasy of a career in music wore off in my 20’s I became fully engaged in food and drink. To my delight, I found an industry that was just as mad and experimental as the fine arts. I worked the rounds waiting tables, bartending, dabbled in cooking (though I never had the speed to do it professionally) and tried to pass myself off as somewhat of a professional in order to get invited to tastings and related events.”

For the Man that could do with smelling just a little bit better…..
Thomas Clipper | Unite (blended cologne)
Morgan, our editor, is a huge fan of Thomas Clipper’s double edged raiser, he recorded a podcast with the two founders last year and is now enjoying their new colognes. He says:
“Thomas Clipper’s quiet revolution of our morning routine continues, Messer’s Brown & Weiss continue to reimagine the subtle rituals of preparing oneself to set forth into the day and tackle the world. The Unite colognes are like those reliable well-made garments of a excellently curated modular wardrobe – dress up, dress down, climb a mountain, wedge yourself onto the Central Line – always there for you not matter the occasion.”
